A new Add/Edit is coming to MRMLS Matrix on January 15, 2008. After January 15th, members will be able to use the new-and-improved Add/Edit to add listings with ease.

Not only is Add/Edit getting streamlined but the MRMLS Matrix search pages, displays and reports are getting reorganized to reflect the new structure. Best of all, the time it takes to add a listing should be reduced dramatically. For example, in Residential there will be only five steps instead of eight.

Starting January 1, 2008 our Training classes will show the updated version of Add/Edit where appropriate. If you would like to see the new Add/Edit, as well as previews of other soon to be released items, sign up to be a part of our member focus group by sending an email to MatrixFocusGroup@imrmls.com. The next focus group meeting will be January 8th.

Question: Why is Add/Edit being updated?
Answer: Our current structure features were grouped in a single field and were hard to find. The new structure breaks them into logical categories. This change was also needed to bring us into compliance with the CARETS initiative that unifies the datasets of the major MLSs in Southern California.

Question: How will I be affected by this change?
Answer: By restructuring our database, MRMLS was required to rebuild all reports, displays, search pages and Add/Edit pages in MRMLS Matrix. We have taken this opportunity to make several improvements. Wherever possible, we kept things as they were while making room for change. For example, the Full Display now has fully descriptive field labels, but if you prefer the old report, choose Agent Full Abbreviated to see the original format.

Question: How did you know what to change?
Answer: The changes came from feedback from member suggestions, the Operations Committee, Focus Groups and input from Greater South Bay Regional MLS. We wanted to make sure the changes were based on the needs of the members and not the opinions of the technology staff.
